The Tale of Winepreneurs.Club + What’s Coming Next
When we came together in 2015 to form Winepreneurs.Club, our goal was clear: we wanted to unite entrepreneurs in Atlanta in a unique way by bringing them together to sample exceptional wines while making connections with fellow entrepreneurs in a relaxed, causal environment. Since our inaugural event at Proof & Provision in November 2015, we have had the opportunity to enjoy the vintage ambiance of 1Kept and one of the best views of Atlanta at Sky Terrace. If you haven’t had the chance to join us for an event yet, don’t worry, we have recapped all of the fun below.
Buckhead’s Hidden Gem
If you’ve ever driven down Peachtree Road, you’ve probably observed the enormous amount of restaurants lining the road. Among the colorful and flashy restaurants, you may notice a restaurant with a subtle, refined presence named 1Kept. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you immediately realize it’s not like the others. From its collection of type writers to its immaculate menu of American cuisine with a Southern twist, diners are transported into its sophisticated world.
In March, Winepreneurs.Club enjoyed an evening of select wine and delicious bites at the establishment. 1Kept’s owner has strong ties to the California winery community and curated a menu of California wines for the event that included a 2013 Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvee from Sonoma, 2012 Mt. Veeder Cabernet from Napa Valley, 2014 Morgan Double L Pinot Noir from St. Lucia and 2014 Anthony Bell Canterbury Syrah.
Bird’s Eye View of Midtown
In May, we elevated our venue, literally, at Sky Terrace. Located in the heart of Midtown by Georgia Tech’s campus, Sky Terrace offers a breathtaking view of the city from its 25th story space. At the event, we introduced our newest host, Silicon Valley Bank, which serves over 300 wineries and vineyards in some of our favorite places – Napa, Sonoma, Central Coast, Oregon and Washington.
For the evening’s tastings, we mixed things up a bit with a wine battle. The competition was fierce between Chardonnays hailing from Oregon and California. Tastings also included a Pinot Noir showdown with wines from Oregon and California. Closing out the competition, it was Washington versus California in a Cabernet battle. Along with the array of wine, guests enjoyed food pairings from Costanzo Astarita, owner of Italian dining landmark, Baraonda and gastropub, Publik Draft House.
For our next event, we will be traveling along the perimeter of the city to Three Sheets on Sept. 20. If you are interested in getting on the Winepreneurs.Club list or learning more information, reach out to Sarah Bell at sbell@trevelinokeller.com.
